PODOLOGY is a non-medical field of foot care services provided for people with special conditions on feet and hands (such as ingrown nails, deep cracks, diabetic foot, care after surgeries, etc.) 

If you don't have any special conditions on your feet, having a standard pedicure is also beneficial to ensure everything is alright with your feet.

No, a podiatrist is a medical doctor, who performs minor surgeries and can prescribe medication. 

Podologist is NOT A DOCTOR - we do physical, non-invasive cleaning procedures, to avoid further difficulties. We do not prescribe medicine or conduct a diagnosis, however, we have knowledge in different fields, such as dermatology, anatomy, orthopedy, gait and posture changes, and able to prevent further serious conditions and advise to visit a doctor if necessary.

In some cases this type of pedicure can be called MEDICAL PEDICURE, however, we do not call it medical, as all the techniques we are using are non-medical and non-ivasive, as well as pain free.

A podology pedicure is a procedure where we do specific feet cleaning according to the current conditions of your feet. It requires special knowledge and our staff is well qualified to provide this service. In most cases, our clients are those people, who have difficult conditions on their feet, hands, and nails, such as ingrown nails, twisted nails, damaged nails, fungal nails, deep cracks, diabetic feet, etc. 

The difference between podology pedicure and classic pedicure:

- A classic pedicure, when we soak our feet in the water, makes the skin puffed and during the filing and scrubbing, most of the time, skin is getting damaged and overfilled. 

- classic pedicure has a high risk of cross-contamination between clients, with different bacteria and infections.

- classic pedicures can not provide long-lasting results and you have to do feet cleaning often.

- classic pedicure is not allowed for people with diabetes, because such people have lower sensitivity levels, and their skin might be easily damaged and infected. 

- The podology pedicure requires special education of a foot care specialist about foot anatomy and skin structure. A podologist knows how to improve skin and overall foot conditions.

Yes, definitely. Having diabetes, high blood sugar, insulin resistance, or pred-diabetes requires specific foot treatment. It's not recommended for you to use classic or other pedicure techniques. Our team members are experienced foot care specialists, qualified in podology, and able to provide gentle foot and hand treatment, for people with high blood sugar conditions.
